Completed backyard paver transformation with patio, seating wall and walkway on Long Island

Start With Grade And Water, Not Pavers

Most disappointing backyards are drainage problems first and design problems second. Before we plan a patio we look at where water currently goes, where the low points are and how the yard relates to the house and neighboring properties.

Once the grade plan is right, the hardscape layout follows: where the level entertaining area sits, where steps handle elevation change, and where walls hold back grade or double as seating.

What A Backyard Project Usually Includes

Doing the whole yard as one project is almost always more economical than three separate jobs — you pay once for access, excavation and disposal.

  • Demolition and removal of old slabs or surfaces
  • Re-grading and drainage corrections
  • Paver patio and outdoor dining area
  • Steps, landings and elevation transitions
  • Seating walls and retaining walls
  • Walkways connecting driveway, side yard and patio

Designed For Long Island & Queens Lots

Long Island backyards tend to be wider with more room for zones; Queens lots are often narrow and deep with tight side-yard access. The layout, staging and machinery plan differ accordingly, and both are planned before we quote.

Materials That Age Well Outdoors

Large-format concrete and porcelain pavers are popular for modern backyards, while natural stone and brick suit traditional homes. We match patio material to wall caps, steps and any existing masonry so the yard reads as one design.
