Diagnose The Cause Before The Repair
Resetting pavers over the same failing base just buys a season. We look at why the area moved: is the base too shallow, was it never compacted, is water running toward the surface, is there a utility trench underneath, or has the edge restraint failed and let the field creep?
Once the cause is identified we fix that, then reset the surface.
What A Proper Reset Involves
The original pavers are almost always reusable, which keeps the cost down and the match exact.
- Careful lift and stacking of the existing pavers
- Excavation and rebuild of the failed base
- Compaction in lifts to correct depth
- Grade and pitch correction for drainage
- Reset of the original pavers in the original pattern
- New joint sand, compaction and cleanup
Common Repairs We Handle
Driveway tire-track ruts and settled aprons, patio corners that pool water, walkway trip hazards, spreading borders, weed-filled or washed-out joints, and sections disturbed by utility work or root growth.
When Replacement Makes More Sense
If the pavers themselves are widely cracked, spalled or discontinued, or if the base failed across the whole surface, a new installation is the better long-term value. We will tell you plainly which situation you are in.
