Why Pavers Perform Well In New York
New York ground moves. Freeze-thaw cycles lift and settle soil every winter, and a rigid poured surface has only one way to respond to that movement: crack. A paver surface is made of individual units with flexible joints, so it absorbs movement instead of failing across it.
Pavers are also the only hardscape surface that can be genuinely repaired. If a utility line needs access or one area settles, the affected pavers are lifted, the base is corrected and the same material is reset — no mismatched patch.
Paver Services We Install
Pavers are our primary trade, and most of our work falls into these categories:
- Paver driveways and driveway replacements
- Paver patios and outdoor living areas
- Complete backyard paver transformations
- Paver walkways and side-yard paths
- Front entrances, landings and courtyards
- Paver repair, resetting and releveling
Paver Materials We Work With
Material choice affects cost, texture, color retention and how the surface ages. We bring samples on site and show you what each option looks like against your house.
- Interlocking concrete pavers — strongest value for driveways
- Large-format concrete pavers — clean, modern patios
- Brick pavers — traditional New York character
- Porcelain pavers — dense, stain-resistant, contemporary
- Natural stone pavers — premium finish, unique variation
- Permeable pavers — drainage-driven installations
How A StoneSky Paver Installation Is Built
Excavate to the depth the use requires and remove the spoil. Install and compact the stone base in lifts rather than one pass. Set grade so water leaves the house. Screed the bedding layer, lay the field pattern and border, cut cleanly at edges. Install edge restraint, sweep in joint sand and compact the surface.
Every one of those steps appears in your written estimate, so you can compare our scope against any other contractor's line by line.
All Pavers Services
- Paver WalkwaysA paver walkway is the path visitors actually walk on, so it has to be level, wide enough for two people and safe in every season.
- Front Entrance PaversThe front entrance is the first thing anyone sees, and it usually involves three elements at once: the walkway, the landing and the steps.
- Paver Pool DecksA pool deck has to stay cool underfoot, drain fast and stay grippy when wet.
- Permeable PaversPermeable pavers let rainwater pass through open joints into a stone reservoir below instead of running across the surface into your garage or your neighbor's yard.
- Concrete PaversConcrete pavers are the workhorse of the industry: manufactured to consistent dimensions, available in dozens of colors, textures and formats, and rated for vehicle traffic.
- Brick PaversClay brick pavers keep their color permanently because the color is the fired clay itself, not a pigment.
- Interlocking PaversInterlocking pavers transfer load sideways from one unit to the next, so the surface behaves as one flexible pavement instead of a set of loose stones.
- Porcelain PaversPorcelain pavers are dense, non-porous and dimensionally perfect, which gives patios a clean modern look with very tight joints.
- Natural Stone PaversBluestone, granite and other natural stone bring variation no manufactured unit can copy.
- Paver Sealing & CleaningSealing is not just cosmetic.
