Steps & Stoops
Front steps take the most abuse of any masonry on the property — weather, salt and daily use. When treads crack, risers spall or the whole stoop pitches back toward the house, the fix is structural, not cosmetic. We rebuild on sound footings and finish in stone, brick or concrete to suit the home.
Retaining & Seating Walls
Walls do two jobs on New York lots: they hold grade on sloped yards, and at seat height they turn a patio into an outdoor room. Either way, drainage behind the wall determines how long it stands. Backfill, drainage stone and outlets are built in from the start.
Entrances, Courtyards & Hardscaping
Front entrances, courtyards and walkways set the tone for the whole property. We coordinate masonry with paver surfaces so materials, borders and elevations read as a single design rather than separate projects.
All Masonry Services
- Steps & StoopsSteps and stoops carry every visitor and take the worst of the weather.
- Retaining WallsA retaining wall holds back soil, so it lives or dies on what you cannot see: the base, the backfill and the drainage.
- Masonry WalkwaysA masonry walkway in bluestone, clay brick or fieldstone reads differently from a manufactured paver path — more texture, more variation, more in keeping with older homes..
- CourtyardsA courtyard turns a leftover side yard or front area into a defined outdoor room, framed by low walls, pillars or planting and surfaced in stone or pavers..
- Front EntrancesA front entrance rebuild takes the steps, landing, walkway and often the pillars and does them together so the heights, materials and lines finally agree with each other..
- Brick RepointingMortar fails long before brick does.
- Stone VeneerStone veneer wraps existing foundations, pillars, stoops and facades in real or manufactured stone, changing the character of a house without structural work..
- Outdoor KitchensAn outdoor kitchen is masonry first and appliances second: a solid, level, properly drained structure faced to match the patio, with utilities run before anything is built..
- Fire Pits & FireplacesA fire pit or outdoor fireplace gives a patio a focal point and extends the season by a couple of months on either end..
- Pillars & ColumnsPillars frame a driveway entrance or front steps and give an otherwise flat frontage some structure.
