Asphalt Paving In Queens, Brooklyn & Long Island

Asphalt is the fastest, most affordable way to get a clean sealed driveway — provided the base under it is built for New York winters. StoneSky excavates, bases and compacts every asphalt job properly, and tells you honestly when a repair will serve you better than a replacement.

  • New asphalt driveways installed full depth
  • Pothole, edge and full-depth section repair
  • Resurfacing overlays where the base is sound
  • Clean apron, garage and sidewalk transitions

Why Asphalt Driveways Fail Early In New York

Almost every failed asphalt driveway we are called to replace failed from underneath. Thin or uncompacted stone base, water trapped where it should have drained, and paving straight over a broken surface all produce the same result: alligator cracking and sinking within a couple of winters.

We spend the first day of an asphalt job on the part nobody photographs — excavation, subgrade, base and pitch. That is what decides whether the surface is still flat in ten years.

Repair, Resurface Or Replace

There are three honest answers when an asphalt driveway looks tired, and only one of them is a full replacement.

  • Repair — potholes, broken edges and failed sections cut out and replaced full depth
  • Resurface — a new top course over a base that is still structurally sound
  • Replace — full excavation and rebuild when the base has failed
  • Convert — replace failing asphalt with a paver driveway instead

How We Build An Asphalt Driveway

Excavate the old surface and any unsuitable subgrade. Install and compact crushed stone base in lifts. Set grade so water leaves the house and garage. Lay the binder course and roll it, then the top course, rolled hot. Hand-rake and taper the edges and cut the apron transition clean.

Every step appears in your written estimate so you can compare scope line by line against any other quote.
